This is a heartfelt story of a plucky little Balinese girl—Made Angel—brought up in a traditionally patriarchal society, her fascination with magic and her fear of karma, as she grows up in the village and ventures far beyond. Protagonist Made Angel retells her life story as if it were her own memoir, taking the reader on an intimate life journey to foreign shores and back, and a life fraught with difficulties, from which the title “Renditions of My Soul” is drawn.
